New coat of paint cracking/splitting over new drywall?

Rennovating a bathroom. I put a skimcoat of drywall over plaster to get it smooth and match the new drywall I put up. Now when I paint it, the paint is cracking/ and flaking. Is there anyway to fix this?New coat of paint cracking/splitting over new drywall?
Sounds like your skimcoat was not cured. Leave it for a couple days some times if you leave it alone for several days it will dry on its own. If not scrape off any loose paint and then try (if your primer is still good), a good quality paint and be sure it is for moist places, bathroom and kitchen, If the problem persists you may have moisture from outside or inside the wall it self.New coat of paint cracking/splitting over new drywall?
You can cover the whole mess with joint compound and make it have character. Use a paint scraper and apply the compound in small fan-shaped strokes. Paint it when dry with light-colored paint and then add darker shades with a sponge. It is truly an Old-world look and is worth the time and effort.
are you sure its the paint and not the skim coat?
Need a primer on it first
