Use differentials to estimate the amount of paint needed to apply a coat of paint 0.05 cm thick to a hemispher?

Use differentials to estimate the amount of paint needed to apply a coat of paint 0.05 cm thick to a hemispherical dome with diameter 42 m. (Round the answer to two decimal places.)

didn't you just ask this question? did you delete it with the answers? not nice.

You do not need to use differentials, as i said. Calculate the surface are of the half sphere and multiply by the thickness.

Since the paint thickness is very small compared to the area, this is differentials in a sense.
