What do i have to do to cover simigloss paint. It keeps peeling when i apply another coat of simigloss?

I'm trying to paint the doors in my house. And the paint peels if the doors are bumped or hit with any object at allWhat do i have to do to cover simigloss paint. It keeps peeling when i apply another coat of simigloss?
it doesn't matter what paint you have on your doors if you bang them they will chip paint isn't indestructible, you need to sand your doors lightly first before applying any paint, remove all lose and flakey paint, you should not paint over paint without doing this when you have sanded undercoat them then apply your top coat if you dont prep your paint job first and do it properly then you are going to have a crappy finish as you have discoveredWhat do i have to do to cover simigloss paint. The reason the paint is peeling is that you've painted over a semi-gloss surface. A semi-gloss paint has a 'slick' finish and will not allow the new paint coat to adhere to it. Prior to painting, you should have given the doors a light sanding with a 220 grit sandpaper or 0000 steel wool then used a tack cloth to remove the dust. Once this is done, then you can re-coat them with a new coat of paint. The sanding will give the new paint a surface it can stick to. It's called giving it some 'tooth.'

At this point, I would scrape off any of the new paint and then sand the doors down, wipe them down with a tack cloth, prime them and then paint them again.
Your doors may have oil based paint on them - not semi-gloss. If that's the case, you will need to scrape the, prime them, then repaint.
They will require a light sanding between coats.
Alight scruff then C.I.L problem sover or C.I.L smart primmer, This stuff is unbeiveabe primmer goes over oil no problem
Sounds like you may be trying to paint a water-based paint over an oil-based paint. I'd sand your doors down to where the wood shows through, then give them a good coat of primer. Then, apply a coat of color, maybe two depending on the result.

good luck
Any kind of semi gloss paint, oil or water base needs to be roughed up with sandpaper or liquid sandpaper before repainting. There are some primers that will allow you to skip the roughing up but I suggest at least using liguid sandpaper even before the primer for a really good quality and long lasting job. Since you have already tried painting over it and it's peeling you will need to strip off all the new paint and start over.
