It is used for protecting an artwork. I use clear gloss acrylic spray for the jewelry I make. It helps keep the shine. I use clear semi-gloss acrylic varnish for the acrylic paintings I make. This helps make the paint appear uniform. If I need to clean the painting I can without damaging the paint.
