Is there anything you can coat matt paint in to make it washable?

I have just painted my walls in crown matt and now everytime the kids touch the walls they leave greasy fingerprints on them that will not wash off. I have looked to see if they do the colour I have in easyclean but they don't. Is there any other way round it.?Is there anything you can coat matt paint in to make it washable?
I think the best thing to do is re-paint using a soft sheen or vinyl silk, it is a lot of work but will save you time in the long run and it will be easy to wash and the room will look nicer for longer. Using varnish will spoil the look of your paint work and highlight the greasy marks that are already there! Is there anything you can coat matt paint in to make it washable?
Please dont paint your walls with oil based varnish ! It'll cause you problems in the long term.

You can buy an emulsion glaze (clear) to protect your walls its acrlic based, and very hard wearing, Johnstones sell it, I belive crown may have their own version too.

For future referance, there's some great washable matt emulsions on the market now, again there acrilic based, and well worth the money

Good luck
Every glaze or varnish will leave your matt finish shiny. The only one worth considering is Polyvine, an acrylic varnish, but even that will put a sheen on your matt paint and it is expensive.

It would be cheaper for you to repaint with Vinyl Matt emulsion which should be wipable. Use Dulux.
You could try using a Matt Vinyl....Its washable...Failing that....Have the colour you need mixed is the store where you bought it....Most of the bigger stores will do it for you, also look at your local trade centres, they will do it for you..
use an oil based matte finish paint -not latex to solve your problem, its much more durable and not nearly as porous as the latex!
at johnstones or leyland you can buy a soft sheen emulsion which is washable
If you don't mind a bit of a gloss you could go over it with a coat of clear satin sealer.
Varnish. Clear satin or gloss. Polyurethane based is toughest.
