What causes 1997 Honda Accord paint and clear coat come off?

Honda is the king of taking content out of a vehicle without the customer noticing it until the car gets old. In the 80's and early 90's it was a/c systems that were too small a capacity and poor paint. I recently sold a '02 Accord that was getting dark spots about the size of a pencil eraser on the top surfaces of the metallic gold paint. They have great longevity, but the quality of materials is lacking on Hondas when you compare them to Nissan or Toyota. Hope this helps. What causes 1997 Honda Accord paint and clear coat come off?
I am guessing that you leave your car out in the sun more than 75% of the time and dont wax it twice a year. The sun and an unprotected clear coat do not mix well......What causes 1997 Honda Accord paint and clear coat come off?
Honda was notorious for using too thin paint on their cars in the 90's.
