Should you apply clear coat over flat black paint?

I have painted my laptop lid flat black (Krylon Fusion spray paint). I have also found Krylon matte clear coat. Will adding a clear coat over flat paint ruin it even if the clear coat is matte (i.e change the colour\texture etc)?Should you apply clear coat over flat black paint?

It will change the texture some. but as any flat color will rub off easily a clear coat would be preferred for durability.
Crear coat is a good idea to avoid scuffle marks in the future.
