Should you fine wet and dry car paint after spraying metallic paint before clear coat?

People are giving me mixed info - some say ok to fine wet and dry the nibs off some say wait til clear coat is on then wet sand. Also can you use g3 compound before clear coat to flat back. How long should i wait for paint to dry before doing this process?Should you fine wet and dry car paint after spraying metallic paint before clear coat?
Do not spray clear over a sanded metallic base coat. For best results let the base coat dry enough to handle, water sand lightly with 800-1000 grit, carefully clean and tack, then apply a couple thin wet color coats. Then clear coat.I don't understand the question about compounding under clear before flat black. But clear is normally applied as soon as a base flash dries to insure adhesion.Should you fine wet and dry car paint after spraying metallic paint before clear coat?
The best result ,is to prep your car undercoat , all smooth no dents approx 350 to 420, wet and dry, then complete the whole car, with colour two to three coats, then follow approx 30 to 40 minutes, with two to three coats clear coats ,this alloys the clear coat to adhere to the base colour and your paint finish will last for years and not fade, car should be completted in approx 2 hours painting then after approx 48 hours, wet sand with 1000 to 1200 untill smooth ,then lightly with 1500, then polish to finish,
You can wet/dry up to the metallic base coat let base coat dry then spray on clear coat,do not touch the base coat as any marks will show under the clear coat, hope this helps, good luck.
DO NOT SAND BASECOAT!!!!!!!!

It will screw up the metallic in it.
